About Us....

Blue Creek Saddles & Tack are a small family saddlery company based in Pomona in S.E. Queensland run by Ian and Sue Huxley.

Ian is a memeber of the 'Saddlers and Harness Makers Association of Australia (currently Treasurer of the QLD Branch ) and our saddle shop is accredited to use 'Made in Australia' tags on our gear. Sue also has had many years of experience working in retail saddleries and in the Animal Health industry.

An engineer by trade, Ian has been making western saddles for about 8 years and was taught by master saddler Eddy Powell. Ian has completed two Eddy Powell saddle making courses and continues to strive towards refining his skills and making each saddle better than the last. I (Sue) am still riding in the first saddle Ian made and it is still going strong.

Sue does the hand carving on the saddles and is the one who does the paperwork and looks after the website. (So if you find anything not working properly on this site, please call or email me!)

We have owned and shown horses for more than 20 years. Currently Sue is showing her Quarter Horse 'A Rare Steel' and attempting to change him from a fat pleasure horse into a reiner! Our new gelding, the paint bred 'Weapons First Choice', is settling in, learing how to be a trail riding horse and will attempt Team Penning in 2010.

We make hand crafted western saddles, fender saddles, bridles, halters, reins, girths, cattle halters and lots of other stuff and have a repair service specialising in western and fender saddles.

We do not have a shop front so we can pass on the savings direct to you!

Blue Creek Saddles & Tack stock a great range of gear for reiners, western showies, team penners and campdrafters. We only make and stock the quality of gear that we would use ourselves and have a great range of suppliers such as Dale Chavez, Davis horse boots, Toowoomba Saddlery, Nocona Belts and Mayatex at competitive prices.

If we haven't got what you want, we will can make it or find it and get it for you. Almost anything is possible, impossible things just take a little longer.....
